Evolving from the popular El Chete chopper, the TOPS Bestia is an upsized chopper design with blending traditional kukri and parang designs with TOPS Knives bomb-proof construction. This version comes with a Tactical Stone powder coated 1095 carbon steel blade and tan and green canvas Micarta handle scales.

Blade: Made from TOPS' high performance, differentially heat treated 1095 carbon steel, the blade has a beefy saber grind and pronounced downward slant for that unbeatable forward weighted chopping power. The Tactical Stone powder coat finish helps to prevent corrosion while holding up to heavy use and being discreetly non-reflective. With 13 inches of blade you have plenty of cutting power and can grip the flat of the blade and handle to use it as a draw knife. An index choil allows for a close grip for added control in fine work.

Handle: Attached to the full tang are two thick-slab handle scales that offer a full and comfortable grip thanks to the chamfered edges. The slabs are dual layer canvas Micarta, green over tan with a subtle black liner, for optimal traction even when wet and classic outdoor style. Texture is balanced for traction and comfort in swinging with a pronounced guard and dual holes at the pommel for lanyard attachment delivering added security in use. A divot is added for use in bow drill fire making.

Sheath: Carrie via a black Kydex with snap closure and leather drop loop dangler.

1095 High Carbon Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care. TOPS utilizes a differential heat treat process which delivers a harder edge and tougher spine.
